Advantages of a Rollback Tow Truck

Car towing has evolved through the years.
Originally you would have to borrow your grandpa's pickup truck, a piece of chain or a rope and haul it yourself.
After that came the original tow truck which would come and hook your transmission or something under your car, raise it and drive away with your car trailing behind.
Now we have the rollback tow truck, which gently raises your car upon a platform and carries it to wherever you want.
The old system many times damaged parts of the car it was hauling.
The car being hauled would fall into pot holes and do everything the truck would do even swerve in tight turns.
This changed drastically; the rollback is designed to lower the platform so the car can be hauled onto it.
Once the car is securely tied on the platform, the rollback tow truck drives away without damaging or exposing the car to any possible damage on the street.
A rollback truck is especially useful when you have to take the damaged car a long way, or on the highway for example.
The rollback driver does not have to worry about the damaged car; it is just a load upon his platform.
He can drive at a normal speed and not have to worry about the car hanging behind him.
The car on top of the rollback will not suffer any further damage and it will be driven safely to its final destination.
This also applies to delivering the car at its destination.
It is easy for the rollback tow truck driver to maneuver his truck and lower the platform to unload the car even in tight spaces where he has to backup into small spaces.
In the event the damaged car has been part of an accident and its back wheels are flat or unable to turn; it will be impossible for a regular tow truck to haul it anywhere.
It needs the back wheels to turn so it can be dragged behind the truck.
In the case of the rollback tow truck, he will not have a problem because the car will not roll behind it.
The car will be sitting on top of the platform.
A rollback is a definite advantage when you have been in an accident or simply cannot start your car.
Some people even use them to have their cars delivered from one city to another without risking someone driving their car cross country.
Most towing companies have these available and in case you need a tow it will be better and safer for your car to be carried and not dragged, ask the attendants to send you a rollback tow truck and not a regular tow truck.
