- 1). Decide on a quantity for your first print run. Think about the intent of your promotion, whether it be for a one-time event or a small business.
- 2). Visit custom print businesses online. Compare options and prices for the specific quantity you want for your order. Businesses such as Atlas Match, Maryland Match and Falco Discount Printing all offer different deals and options. Get price quotes from different websites and choose the one that makes the most sense for you.
- 3). Download the proper custom template. Almost all custom printers have various design templates available. You may be able to select from a wide variety of preset designs, altering only the text to place your business name and contact information on the matchbook. You may also decide to customize your design from scratch, however. Stay within the margins of the template to ensure that your text and any important parts of your images do not get cut off around the edges.
- 4). Export the design according to the specifications of the website. Some custom printers may ask you for the original design file, either in Illustrator or Photoshop format. Others may ask you to export the file as a flattened image in .jpg, .tiff or .gif format.
- 5). Upload your file to the website and place your order. Many custom printers offer expedited service if you need the order rushed. Otherwise, you can expect to wait at least a week for your order to arrive.
