Surfing at Puerto Escondido
The Mexican Pipeline or Puerto Escondido lures in the top surfers in the world, being one of the worlds best surfing destination. November is the month when an international surf contest is held while February is for the Mexpipe Challenge. Professional and amateur surfers will get a pick of the best waves they have. Puerto Escondido has several beaches where you can go swimming but it is not advisable in Playa Zicatela, the main surfing beach because of strong rip tides and some of the most powerful waves in the world which even bests the famous Hawaii Banzai Pipeline. This surfing spot is limited to very experienced surfers only as even the most professional surfers have met accidents that have placed them in wheelchairs for life. The Point is another popular surfing area with a rapid and tough surf ride. At the other end of the beach break is the Far Bar that has the most surfers since the water is deeper here compared to the other surfing spots and the break is quite far from the shore. Those who love surfing would surely welcome a trip to Puerto Escondido.
Best Beaches in Mexico

Some of the most beautiful beaches in the Maya Riviera region on the Caribbean coast can be found at the gorgeous beaches of Cancun as well as the fishing village and beach resort of Puerto Morelos with sandy beaches and tropical waters plus the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. Here in the Maya Riviera is the chic Playa del Carmen and Tulum, which is one of the most beautiful beaches that have the historical Mayan ruins in an area that overlooks the beachside. On the Pacific Coast at the tip of the Baja Peninsula is Los Cabos with miles of marvelous beaches like Playa Cemeterio, Playa Santa Maria, Playa Costa Azul, Playa Canta Mar and Playa Solmar. Popular white sand beaches with several beach resorts are in the area between Huatulco, Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco. You will never run out of beach choices in Mexico.

Cancun on the other hand gives a choice of either the shallow and colorful reefs of Playa del Carmen or Chinchorro Banks which gives access to the Great Maya Barrier Reef. Puerto Vallarta too is equally famous with islands and bays nearby and has added underwater creatures of whale sharks, dolphins, sea turtles and a host of tropical fish.
