- 2). Make duplicate copies of your medical records.
- 3). Store one copy of your medical records at a secure location in your home. By keeping a copy at home you will have ready access to your records as needed.
- 4). Rent a safe deposit box at your bank or some similar type of secure storage to maintain a duplicate copy of your records. A second copy at a secure location will provide backup should something happen to the original copy.
- 5). Scan your medical records---if you have that capacity---to provide an alternate storage mechanism. You might consider maintaining a hard copy of your medical records at your home and storing a digital copy off-site in a safe deposit box at your bank.
