Conclusion
In ICD recipients, device related complications are common, as shown by the 7.5% of patients suffering from at least one complication. Patients with CKD suffered from more ICD related complications than patients without kidney dysfunction. Partially, this can be explained by factors unique for renal disease as was the case with the occurrence of hematoma. However, the high burden of risk-factors associated with device complications in patients with renal disease played an important role as well.
