The HTC Touch Pro lets you access the Internet, personal email and make calls all from a touch-screen device. The cell phone includes a port for interfacing the device to your computer, a rechargeable battery pack and the ability to connect to wireless headphones and other devices using Bluetooth technology. Like other cell phones and portable computers, the phone's rechargeable battery doesn't last forever but there are ways to extend your HTC Touch Pro's battery life. - Keep your HTC Touch Pro phone and its battery pack in an environment that doesn't exceed 140 degrees F. Extreme temperatures can damage the battery pack's internal components as well as your cell phone. Also, do not expose the battery pack to fire or water---these elements can also damage the battery.
- When you are not using your HTC Touch Pro, place the phone in "Sleep" mode to conserve battery power by pressing the "Power" button on your phone. Your cell phone will immediately switch to a low power state. To exit the "Sleep" mode, press the "Power" button again or remove your HTC Touch Pro's stylus from its holder. Also, any new incoming messages will awaken your phone from its "Sleep" state.
- Another way to conserve battery is to disable your HTC Touch Pro's Wi-Fi component. This is ideal if you not planning on using your phone's wireless capability or you are using another computer device to access the Internet. Click "Start" on your phone's display then click "Settings" and the "Connections" tab. Click "Wireless LAN" to access your HTC Touch Pro's wireless setting. Click the "Power Mode" tab then slide the "Power Mode" slider to the right to select the "Best Battery" setting. This setting provides the maximum battery usage.
- Your HTC Touch Pro cell phone also includes a setting that will automatically power down its display after a certain period. Click "Start," "Settings," "System" and "Power." Click the "Advanced" tab. Set the amount of time to turn off the display to "3 minutes" or less.
- The HTC Touch Pro's backlight can also drain its battery pack. To change the backlight's brightness setting. Click "Start," "Settings," "System" and "Power." Click the "Backlight" tab. Move the slider to a medium brightness setting or one that you are comfortable with.
- Connect your cell phone's AC power adapter whenever possible. Do not wait until your HTC Touch Pro's battery is almost dead before recharging it. Also, consider purchasing a vehicle power adapter so you can charge your phone in your vehicle especially if using the HTC Touch Pro's handsfree option.
- After using an application, like the Camera or another application, close it properly so it is not running in the background and using battery power. Navigate to the application's "File" or "Close" option and make sure you close it---don't just leave the program open.
