- 1). Troubleshoot a leaking tub in your Maytag Performa by first removing the tub cover, agitator and the four bolts that connect the basket, then lifting the basket out. Use the spanner wrench to remove the basket hub assembly--turn it counterclockwise to loosen. The tub seal is located underneath.
- 2). Use a multimeter to check the water inlet valve on your Maytag Atlantis if you no longer get both hot and cold water. Check for continuity on the black piece on the end; you should get a reading of 1,100 ohms. If it is open, replace the valve. If not, check that the valves get voltage when you select the corresponding temperature. If not, replace the temperature control board.
- 3). Replace the water inlet valve on top-loading Maytags by removing the screw that holds the mounting plate to the washer and the screws that hold the valve to the plate. Remove the plate, label the wires and remove them. Disconnect the water tube from the valve and replace the old valve with the new one. Reattach the plate and valve to the washer and check for leaks.
- 4). Stop your Maytag Atlantis from squealing between cycles by removing the moisture from the brake rotor. Clean the brake rotor/stator set with emery cloth. If this doesn't solve the problem, replace the brake set with a new one.

Solve the buzzing noise in your inoperable Maytag MAV washer by checking the connections in the motor wiring harness. If the motor doesn't run, the cause may be the white wire labeled "9."
