How to Convert a USB Printer to a Network Printer

    • 1). Open the "Printers and Faxes" folder on your computer. You can find a link to this folder by clicking on the "Start" menu and selecting the "Settings" folder.

    • 2). Right-click on the icon that represents the USB printer that is attached to your computer. Select "Properties."

    • 3). Click on the "Sharing" tab at the top of the "Properties" window.

    • 4). Click the small circle next to "Share this Printer." In the box beneath it, give your printer a name. This is the name that will appear to all devices that attempt to use your printer over the network.

    • 5). Click "Apply" to save your changes and "OK" to exit the "Printer Properties" window. Your USB printer will now be available to all computers and devices that are connected to your home network.
