Setting Up A Fax Modem On A MAC

Similar to the Windows computers having the capability of receiving fax messages, the Mac computers are equally capable in the act.
MAC users can as well setup auto printing options for incoming fax or can choose to save incoming files on their Apple desktop or laptop.
With the ending of the dial-up era one of the biggest challenges faced is that of connecting a residential or official landline to the computer.
This issue however can get easily addressed by the use of a simple external modem of 56 KBPs with USB connectivity, and as well is designed with fax modem specifically compatible with Apple hardware.
You need to first locate the dial-up modem that is internal and at the back portion of the Mac desktop or laptop.
The more recent computers however do not come with dial-up by default.
In case you do not have one installed, you need to buy one compatible with the Mac hardware you have, and finally plug in the same to a USB port opening of your computer.
Plug one of the ends of the phone chord to the telephone hub or the wall outlet directly.
Now, plug the other end of phone cable in the port of the external modem or the internal one.
Once both the ends of the phone cable are connected properly to the modem and wall outlet, click on the icon of Apple situated in left most corner of your computer's menu bar.
Now choose the option for System Preferences.
Once the System Preference opens up, click on the network icon.
Now click on the item situated in the pane in left-hand side and with the label Internal/External Modem.
This will reveal the complete network setting of your Apple modem.
Now simply click the button called Enable modem.
You need to press the button for back arrow and go to System Preference again.
You need to select the Print and Fax icon and press the button called Faxing.
Now choose Receive faxes on this computer option, and set up all the other options according to your preference.
