- 1). Align the ends of the nine strands of embroidery floss. Tie a double overhand knot approximately three inches below the tops of the strands.
- 2). Stick the double knot to your work space with a strip of masking tape.
- 3). Untangle the nine strands of embroidery floss. Organize the strands into three groups, with three strands in each group. You should now have a group of three strands on the left, a group of three strands on the right and a group of three strands in the middle position.
- 4). Pick up the group of strands on the left-hand side and place them into the middle of the other two groups of strands. Pick up the right-hand group of strands and place them in the middle of the other two groups of strands. Untangle the groups of embroidery floss below the braid as you go along.
- 5). Continue to braid the entire length of necklace using the technique in Step 4.
- 6). Tie a double overhand knot around the last braid. Leave three inches of loose strands to tie the necklace around your neck. Any excess embroidery floss can be cut off with the scissors.
