Want Perfect Eyebrows at Home? Try These Tools

It's not always easy getting perfect eyebrows at home. It's often difficult to know where the arch should go, how to work wax, if you should trim and how to do so. We put together a list of tools that will make getting beautiful brows on your own a lot easier, while saving money over salon and spa prices.

1. EZ Strips from Satin Smooth

Strips normally come pre-cut into different sizes or in a roll where you cut them to your desired size and place them on wax to remove the product. These EZ Strips from Satin Smooth are not just in the perfect size, but curved in an eyebrow shape with an easy-to-grab tab on the end.

Waxing below or beneath the brow, including the lip, just got easier. They’re made out of non-woven cloth and work wonderfully with Satin Smooth wax. I have them in my personal wax kit at home!

2. Small Applicators

Generally a normal applicator is a little bit smaller and thinner than the size of a popsicle stick. That works just fine for putting wax on most areas of the face and body.

The eyebrows are unique because a precise application is essential to removing (and keeping) the right hairs. These Suddenly Smooth Petite Wax Applicators can be used to swipe on warmed up wax or sugar with less chance of mishap.

3. Nad’s Facial Wand Eyebrow Shaper

When I first came across this product, I thought ‘Wow, what a great idea’. Instead of using a stick to apply product or having it already on pre-made strips, their hair removal gel is swiped on with a wand that has a slim tip. This is great for brows, and can also remove hair from other parts of the face.

Strips and pre-wax cleansing wipes are included. Since it's not a wax made of resins, the product can be washed off with water.

4. Billion Dollar Brows Eyebrow Kit

In a couple of minutes you can easily find out which hair needs to go. Because we’re not one size fits all, the tool included uses your other facial features as your guide to getting an ideal eyebrow shape.

A white pencil included highlights the hair, taking the guessing game out of trying to remember exactly which areas of hair to remove after working the tool.

5. Eyebrow Scissors

Removing some bulk helps groom the brow. It’s a must for those who want an ultra defined brow, keeping hair from wandering out of place.

Sometimes women, especially in the teens and twenties, perceive their brows as 'bushy'. They don't always understand what they are often seeing is extra bulk. Instead of trimming, they'll commonly pull out more hair when it's the bulk that needs to go.

It’s best to trim brows first and then put the shape in place. This way you can see more clearly what you have to work with and which hairs need to be uplifted.

Eyebrow scissors have safety features like rounded or upturned edges. A pair that gets good reviews for not tugging is Tweezerman Facial Hair Scissors shown here.

6. Eyebrow Makeup

After getting our precise brow shape in place, we may need a little help filling, deepening the hue or keeping them in place. Just a little bit of product can perform wonders in creating beautiful frames for our eyes.
