- 1). Open the GE Profile washing machine’s lid. Use a flathead screwdriver to pop the agitator’s cap off of the agitator. Under the agitator’s cap you will find a small screw. Use your screwdriver to tighten the screw under the lid.
- 2). Turn the washing machine’s agitator clockwise by hand. Turn it until you cannot turn it anymore. This will ensure that the agitator is in place properly.
- 3). Go to the back of your GE profile washer and unplug the electrical supply from the wall. Pull the washer away from the wall. Use your screwdriver to remove the six screws on the back panel of the washer.
- 4). Pull the back panel off of the GE Profile washer and look to the bottom right hand side of the GE Profile’s inside. Locate the washer’s belt and make sure that it is on the washer basket’s transmission pulley. The transmission pulley is located at the lowest point on the washer’s basket.
- 5). Replace the belt on the transmission pulley if it has broken. Replace the belt if it has fallen off of the transmission pulley. Replace the back panel to the unit and test the GE Profile washer out to make sure the agitator is working properly.
