So you've spent an hour or two designing your teleseminar.
And then you spent another few hours practicing it and getting it just right.
And you found your conference call provider (oh joy, it's free!).
But now you've got a problem! How do you get people to sign up for your teleseminar? It's bad enough that you have to work at creating a teleseminar.
It's bad enough that you have to practice to get your delivery smooth.
Now you have to convince people to attend.
Not exactly what you signed up for is it? In this article I'm going to give you five tips to help you get people to sign up for your teleseminars.
1.
Don't give people too much advance notice.
One of the big mistakes that new teleseminar promoters give is that they provide too much notice for the teleseminar.
After all, if people know about it a week or two in advance, they're more likely to sign up and show up.
Unfortunately, no.
All they do is delay and forget about it.
Keep your notice as short as you can.
Sometimes an "I've decided to do a seminar in one hour" notice is more effective than a two day notice.
2.
Send multiple notices.
People get busy.
They want to attend but something comes up and they forget.
Help them out.
I generally find that a notice at the 1 hour before and 5 minutes before mark help to increase actual attendance.
3.
Segment your customer list.
Not all of your customers will want to attend teleseminars.
And not all of them will be available on the day you are holding the teleseminar.
Don't oversell these customers.
To avoid spamming them, segment your customers or opt-in list into four groups -- signed up to this seminar, never sign up and signed up in the past but not this one.
Use this segmentation of your list in combination with opening one of the emails to control the emails you send.
4.
Use affiliates to bring in non-customers.
Even if you are recording your teleseminar for later sale as a product, you want your teleseminars to help sell your products.
To do this most effectively you need to bring in non-customers.
Providing a free teleseminar to their customers is one way you can help your affiliates.
However, you need to keep the teleseminar educational and not sales oriented.
Otherwise it's just a sales call and won't be providing your affiliates with anything.
5.
Don't forget to use opt-in.
Being able to track who has expressed interest in teleseminars in the past is extremely useful.
Being able to identify who signs up and never attends is also useful.
Using an opt-in both when registering for the teleseminar and also joining will help build this list.
