How to Make a Suede Headband

    • 1). Thumbtack the three lengths of leather to a bulletin board or other suitable vertical surface, keeping their ends even. Braid, keeping the strands taut but not tight.

    • 2). Glue the three strands of each end of the braid together with the craft glue. Allow to dry. This will keep your braid from coming undone.

    • 3). Place the braided suede cord around your head an inch or so above your eyebrows, keeping it snug but comfortable. Allow about 12 inches on each end to dangle decoratively when you wear the headband.

    • 4). Slide a pendant onto the headband at its center for a personal touch. Tie a knot on either side of the pendant to keep it in place, or slide beads on either side and then tie them into position.

    • 5). Finish and trim the ends of the braided suede headband as you wish, perhaps tying a few evenly spaced knots at the ends. Be more elaborate by adding sparkling glass beads with smaller spacer beads between them. Glue on small feathers in colors that coordinate or contrast with the suede.
