- 1). Think first about what symbol you want to represent your team or store. Is your team the name of an animal, or do you have a mascot? Discuss with your team which animal or symbol you'd like on your jerseys (examples include tigers, dogs, cats, lions or simply pictures of people playing softball).
- 2). Purchase clip art (rivalart.com has a great selection) to use as your base. If you want to create completely original work, begin to draw your base on a piece of paper or use photo editing software. Use your animal or other symbol you've chosen as the base for your image. You don't need to draw your image the size that you want it to be on your hat or T-shirt--you can blow it up or shrink it later.
- 3). Draw embellishments around it. Usually, this will entail the team's name and a couple of embellishments, such as lines for indicating sound coming out of a tiger's mouth.
- 4). Color in your logo with colored pencils or do so with your photo editing software.
- 5). Print your logo or copy it in full color on a copy machine. Take it to your local sporting goods store, which will either copy your logo onto uniforms and shirts for a fee or be able to point you toward a company that can do this.
