    How to Store Old Paper Money

    • 1). Wash your hands. Dry them thoroughly.

    • 3). Carefully slide the bill into the holder, taking care not to bend or tear it. Touch as little of the bill as possible. The oils on your fingers can leave a residue that will deteriorate the paper over time.

    • 4). Place the Mylar envelope in the Lindner album.

    • 5). Store your money in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight, which can fade it. Humidity also can deteriorate the paper and ink.
