How to Install a Stereo in a Honda Pilot 2007 LX

    • 1). Lift the hood of the Honda Pilot and loosen the bolt that holds the negative battery cable to the negative battery lead post. Remove the cable from the battery terminal and rest it away from the battery.

    • 2). Connect the stereo wiring from the Honda to a wiring harness adapter. Connect the wiring harness adapter leads to the new stereo. The wiring harness adapter will be labeled with a color code or abbreviations to show where the proper connections are to be made.

    • 3). Slide the new stereo into the stereo mounting dock.

    • 4). Screw in the four bolts at the corners of the stereo mounting bracket, with the Phillips-head screwdriver.

    • 5). Replace the trim panel that surrounds the stereo mounting dock. Replace the small trim panel in the upper right corner of the larger trim panel.

    • 6). Place the negative battery cable clamp around the negative battery lead post. Tighten the clamp with the 10-millimeter wrench.
