How to Get the Chemicals Correct in the Pool

    • 1). Put on old clothes when working with pool chemicals, and do not get chemicals on your eyes or skin, as they can cause damage.

    • 2). Use a pool chemical test kit to determine the needs of your pool water. Add pool water to the tubes of the test kit.

    • 3). Put in the powder that comes with your test kit and compare the color of the water to the color chart provided. The various color levels will tell you what chemicals are necessary for your pool.

    • 4). Add in any necessary bromine, chlorine or other pool chemicals as determined by the test you used.

    • 5). Check the levels of your pool chemicals once a week to make sure they are keeping your pool clean and free of algae and bacteria.
