    • Compact and lightweight, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 measures 2.4 inches wide, 4.4 inches long and 0.6 inches deep and weighs 4.8 ounces. Its 2.5-inch thin-film transistor LCD screen displays more than 65,000 colors at 480 by 360 pixels of resolution. When fully charged, the phone's standard lithium-ion battery holds 1,400 milliamp hours (mAh) of energy and provides up to 312 hours of standby, up to 18 hours of music play and up to five hours of talk time.

    • Built on the BlackBerry Handheld Software operating system, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 features 512 megabytes of user memory, and has a micro-Secure Digital card slot for up to 32 gigabytes of expanded memory. With dual-network capability, the smartphone connects to the 2G network using Global System for Mobile Communications technology on the 850, 900, 1,800 and 1,900 frequency bands. It links to the 3G network using High-Speed Downlink Packet Access technology on the 2,100 frequency band and the Code Division Multiple Access and Evolution-Data Optimized technologies on the 800 and 1,900 frequency bands.

    Camera, Messaging

    • With a built-in 3.2-megapixel digital camera, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 takes pictures at 2,048 by 1,536 pixels of resolution and records video at 480 by 352 pixels of resolution. Photographic features include auto focus, light-emitting diode flash, image stabilization, 2x digital zoom and a self-portrait mirror. The Bold 9650's messaging system supports text, picture, video and voice content and is capable of email support via connection to a Post Office Protocol (POP3) or Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP4) server. The phone also supports push email, which delivers email directly to the phone without requiring the recipient to log-in and manually check for email.

    Miscellaneous

    • With a built-in media player, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 supports a variety of audio and video file formats, including MP3, Advanced Audio Coding, Windows Media Video, Windows Media Audio and H.263. The smartphone comes with several Java-based software applications, including a GPS navigational program, BlackBerry Maps and a document editor that supports Microsoft Office, such as Word and Excel, and PDF file formats. The BlackBerry Bold 9650 smartphone is hearing-aid compatible and comes with 32 polyphonic ringtones.
