- 1). Let at least 24 hours pass after the Admiral refrigerator is installed to let the water fill and chill in the ice maker to produce ice. The ice maker will not be active for at least 24 hours following installation. Turn the ice maker “On” to produce ice by pushing the control arm down.
- 2). Check the water valve to the refrigerator and turn it on if the refrigerator has been installed for over 24 hours but no ice is available. Use a water pressure gauge on a nearby water faucet to determine that the water pressure to the refrigerator is between 35 and 100 pounds per square inch, or psi. Contact a plumber if the water pressure is below 35.
- 3). Close the freezer door firmly if the ice is not dispensed when you press the ice key pad on the dispenser display. Set the freezer temperature between 0 and 2 degrees F for the unit to be cold enough to make ice.
- 4). Change the water filter if ice is cloudy, small or tastes bad. Empty out the ice in the bin if the ice smells or tastes bad and clean the empty bin with soapy water. Rinse and dry well.
- 5). Wait 3 to 6 hours after a large amount of ice is removed from the bin for the machine to restock fully or if the ice supply seems low.
- 6). Lift out the ice bin and reinstall it, rocking gently until it clicks into place, if the ice maker is on and the water supply is correct but no ice is falling into the bin.
