- 1). Open your graphics program and open a five-by-seven-inch raster layer as the foundation for the announcement. Fill in the raster layer with a light or neutral background color.
- 2). Select a graphic that compliments the theme of the wedding or the graphics used on the wedding invitation. Open this graphic, copy it to the clipboard and paste it as a new layer onto the existing raster layer. Position the graphic in the lower left corner. Paste the graphic again in the upper right corner and resize this copy of the graphic to 50 percent of the graphic on the bottom. If desired, reduce the opacity of these graphics to 80 percent, so that they are slightly muted.
- 3). Choose a font, font size and a font color. Enter the text for the announcement. Include the names of the parents of both the bride and groom, the names of the newly married couple, the date the wedding occurred and the location where it occurred. Also include an address for the newlyweds and a short message. Center the text between the left and right edges and the top and bottom edges.
- 4). Make final adjustments to the text and graphics. Merge the layers, name the project and save it on your hard drive.
- 5). Print the announcements onto card stock with your printer, or place the file onto a flash drive and take it to a commercial printer.
