What is Yoga Beginner Guidlines?

  • Do not eat 2-3 hours before your class. Like any other exercises, you should not eat any heavy meals. If you are really hungry before, try to eat light before. If you eat and exercise, your body will not have much energy to move around or feel uncomfortable because your stomach is working. You will not get a good exercise result.
  • Go to bathroom before class to empty all the water in your bladder.
  • Arrive at least 20 minutes before your class to register, get changed and settle down
  •  Make your first class level 1 - Introduce yourself to the teacher before class and let him know about your injuries or concerns if any
  •  Ask questions before or after classes, don't be shy
  •  Hydrate yourself by drinking plenty of water before class
  • Practice regularly (3-6 times/wk) to get best results
  • Be open to new experiences by trying a few (or all) the different styles of yoga we offer to find the yoga styles that suit you

 Do you need to be flexible?

Yoga is a physical exercise that will help increase your flexibility over time. You do not need to be flexible when you start yoga, give it a try and  you will see your range of flexibility will  increase. From practice of yoga, you will have balance between both strength and flexibility. 

Yoga is a comprehensive for of physical exercise, comparinge to cardio fitness, it is an important aspect of yoga, it is not the only benefit you gain from regular practice.  If you practice 1 hour of yoga includes both cardiovascular, strength training, weight bearing, endurance, aerobic, and core-based exercises.  You will see a change in your body.

What my body will feel?

Your body may shake during the practice since your muscles never been used or have a strength. This is normal when starting any physical practice. It is recommended that you commit to practicing despite these conditions. It is better to do what you can than disrupt your practice rout ine. Over time, your body will become acclimated to the practice. 

Can I do or learn yoga from DVD?

Practicing yoga like your travel with a map.  You want to make sure you know the way, you might also choose to get directions from someone who has clearly traveled the distance before. Yoga teachers can give you guides and feedback of your body aligments than you explore on your own.
