How to Make a Knotted Tutu

    • 1). Measure and cut strips of tulle fabric 6 inches wide and 20 inches long.

    • 2). Cut a piece of ½-inch-wide elastic 2 inches shorter than the waist size of the person who will wear the finished tutu.

    • 3). Layer three strips of cut tulle on top of each other, gather together and fold in half to create a loop.

    • 4). Position the loop of tulle over the elastic and reach fingers through the tulle's looped end. Grab the loose end of the tulle and pull it through the loop, securing the elastic in a lark's head knot.

    • 5). Pull the knot securely and repeat the process until you've covered the entire piece of elastic with tulle knots.

    • 6). Tie off the elastic using a square knot or stitch together using a needle and thread.

    • 7). Slide knots evenly over the elastic and fluff the tulle to give your tutu a more full appearance.
