- 1). Cut the hair directly to the jaw line or slightly down towards the chin for a longer look. Early on in her career, Caldwell had shorter hair, but later allowed it to grow chin length.
- 2). Trim the bangs and edges of the hair with a straight razor to give it a chunky and textured look. Caldwell's hair often looks asymmetrical due to the cut.
- 3). Mix together equal parts moisturizer and straightening balm in the palm of your hands. Run this mixture through the hair from the crown to the tips. A good product to try is Maxtrix straightening balm with Aveda moisturizer.
- 4). Place curlers around the sides and back of the hair and apply a quick burst of hot air with a blow dryer. Alternatively, you can wrap portions of hair around a round brush and hit it with the blow dryer.
- 5). Apply hair wax to the back and bottom sides of the hair. Sculpt the edges of the hair up with your fingers to get a choppy look. Caldwell has been known to use Bed Head wax.
- 6). Tease the roots of the hair with your fingers or a comb. This adds volume and makes the hair look thicker and more lustrous.
- 7). Add a dab of smoothing serum to your hands and run them through your hair. Finish off with a small spritz of hair spray. Matrix also makes an excellent soothing serum.
