Did You Just Get Dumped? 6 Tips That Will Take the Sting Away

Did your girlfriend just tell you it's over? You are probably feeling many different emotions right now.
Jealousy, anger, and other hurtful emotions are common following a bad break up.
It's easy to feel lonely and depressed.
Unfortunately, that will just make the situation worse.
You shouldn't stop doing things that you enjoy even though it may be hard to find the desire to do so.
After going through a bad breakup myself not too long ago, I realize this is all easier said than done.
Here is some advice that really helped me when I was going through this tough time: 1.
Turning to family and friends - Family and friends care about you more than anyone else in the world and they will always be there to comfort you.
Take advantage of that and ask them to share their experiences with you.
2.
Don't plead with your ex to come back - Although you may desperately love her and want to be together again, begging and pleading will only make you look weak and insecure, and it could ruin your chances of a reconciliation.
3.
Find a new hobby - Hobbies are a fantastic way to pass the time and get your mind off of the break up.
I chose to pick up fishing and it calmed me down and kept my mind off of the situation.
4.
Don't dwell on the past - Don't beat yourself up over the mistakes you made in your relationship.
Instead, learn from them so you don't make them again.
Think about what you are going to do to make your relationship stronger the next time.
5.
Meet new people - Meeting new people is a great way to get over a break up.
Although you may not be ready to date just yet, you may meet someone who can give you support and advice.
6.
Don't rush into a new relationship - This ties in with #5.
It's good to meet new people, but you need time to heal.
Even though it might feel right at the time, rebound relationships hardly ever last.
You'll just be setting yourself up to be hurt again after barely getting over the first break up.
Remember that you have many qualities that make you special, and that everything happens for a reason.
Something my mother always used to tell me was that time heals all wounds.
You might not think so now, but it's true.
