Campgrounds in Pompano, Florida

    Tent Camping

    • Tent camping in Pompano Beach is most practical from March through June and September through December. In the hotter summer months, campers unaccustomed to night temperatures that can stay in the high 80s may be unable to get comfortable. Temperatures can dip as low as the 30s in January and February.

Quiet Waters Park offers a "Rent-A-Tent" campground where you can rent a site with a tent or teepee already set up. The 27 campsites come with water, fire ring, electricity and a picnic table. This campground allows pets.

    RV Camping

    • Campers will find two RV campsites inside city limits - Breezy Hill and Highland Woods. Both offer full hook-ups for RVs up to 40-feet long, complete with water, electricity and dump stations. Breezy Hill, an "age-qualified" or retirement resort, offers phone and cable. Highland Woods accepts campers of all ages. Both campgrounds have grassy areas by or on each site. Breezy Hill can accommodate almost 600 RVs while Highland Woods has 147 sites.

    Considerations About RV Private Campsites

    • Both RV campsites in Pompano Beach are private campsites. For campers used to camping in state or national parks, these campsites are very different. These campsites often have more amenities, such as cable and phone service and on-site dump stations. Because of Pompano Beach's seasonal population, campers will find winter rates higher than summer rates at these campgrounds and may also find the occupancy much higher in the winter. RV campers may stay at these campgrounds for the entire winter season, if not the year.

    Camping Near Pompano Beach

    • Campgrounds just outside Pompano Beach include Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Ft. Lauderdale and Highland Pines RV Resort in Deerfield Beach. Hugh Taylor Birch has primitive camping for non-profit youth groups of up to 40 people. There is no other camping at the park. Highland Pines offers RV camping with planned activities, a heated pool and indoor recreation center. Highland Pines has annual residents.
