Professional Wedding Photography - What You Should Know

Your wedding day is a day that you want nothing to go wrong. Everything should be perfect, but hiring the wrong professional wedding photography company can be one of your biggest mistakes. Here are a few tips to help you ensure you hire the right company to take your wedding photos.

1. Before you hire your photographer, check out the Better Business Bureau's website. Check into the company that you are considering hiring. You will be able to find out if there are any complaints open, complaints that have been handled by the company and you will be able to see how timely and honestly the complaint was handled.

2. Use your search engine on your computer to find out what other people are saying about the company. Not everyone will think to file a complaint with the BBB, so you should do a little creative digging to find out for yourself.

3. Talk to people in the area of the photographer to find out if the professional wedding photography company you are considering has burned any bridges in the area. You will find, most people will be more than willing to recommend a company or tell you to avoid the company. Word of mouth can be your best way of finding out how a business is really run.

4. Interview the photographer. Ask to see a portfolio of the actual photographer's photos. You don't want to see how great the owners pictures are. You want to see the pictures taken by the person you are hiring.

5. Ask to speak with the actual photographer you will be dealing with. Make sure you feel comfortable with the person and clarify any questions you might have.
6. Make sure you have all of your "must have" photos clearly written in the contract before you sign it. Any changes to the contract should be initialed by you and the professional wedding photography company on all copies of the contract.

The most important thing for you to keep in mind is how comfortable you are with a particular photographer. If you do not feel comfortable you should hire a different person or professional wedding photography company. After all, this person is going to see you for several hours on your wedding day, getting up close and personal with you. If you get a bad vibe, don't dismiss it. You just might regret it.
