Two Things to Avoid on Your Path to Healthy Living

Being healthy is not the easiest thing to achieve.
Eating right and exercising can be difficult to juggle along with the rest of our everyday life.
But if you keep at it, you can do it.
These are the two tips, I would suggest to anyone wanting to become healthier, or even wanting to maintain their current health.
Tip number one: STAY AWAY FROM THE FAST FOOD.
Now that's a little vague because "Fast Food" can mean different things depending on who you ask.
What do I mean by Fast Food? For the most part, I am talking about the big guys with the quarter pounder Mc-Heart-Attacks.
Have you ever looked at the nutritional value from those places? I did some searching online myself and here are some of the results.
Wendy's Spicy Baconator Burger 880 Calories and 55 grams of fat.
The Jack in the box Sourdough Ultimate Cheeseburger: 950 Calories and 73 grams of fat.
Burger King Steakhouse Burger 950 Calories and 59 grams of fat.
McDonald's Deluxe Breakfast Biscuit 1,140 Calories and 59 grams of fat.
The Jack in the Box Double Bacon & Cheese Ciabatta Burger: 1,120 Calories and 76 grams of fat.
Burger King Triple Whopper Sandwich: 1,250 Calories and 84 grams of fat.
Ladies and gentlemen, most of these fast food burgers have 100% of your suggested daily fat intake and that's not including the fires.
In fact the Burger King Tripple Whopper Sandwich is nearly a day and a half of your recommended daily fat value.
If you can't stay away from fast food altogether, which I will admit is sometimes a hard thing to do, then please, please take my advice and at least limit yourself to staying away from the burger, pizza, and fried chicken places as much as possible.
Tip number two: STAY AWAY FROM THE SODA AND DRINK WATER This is probably one of the hardest things to drop for most Americans.
I know you love your soda, but its got to go.
And I am speaking to kids and adults of all age here.
According to the Washington Post, soda pop is about one quarter of all beverages consumed every day.
For the most part, all soda contains carbonated water, caramel color, natural flavors, caffeine, phosphoric acid and high-fructose corn syrup.
The Carbonated water is just water with carbon dioxide, which gives you the bubbles.
Most soda has caffeine, a drug known to be addictive.
And then there is the sugar, lots and lots of sugar and high fructose corn syrup.
Water on the other hand is absolutely curtail in maintaining a healthy body.
Ensuring that you drink enough water every day can: * Decrease the risk of colon cancer * Slashes the risk of breast cancer * Cuts up to 50% of bladder cancer * Reduces the chance of catching a cold or flu * Helps prevent constipation * Prevent the risk of kidney stone * Maintain blood volume, therefore reduces the risk of cardiovascular or heart diseases.
* Prevent urinary tract infections Remember, being healthy is a lifestyle, it's not always ease.
But I would give up fast food and soda any day of the week for a healthy body that I can use to enjoy life to its full potential.
