- 1). Visit the TracFone homepage. Select the green Activate Phone/Buy, Add Airtime button on the right hand side of the page.
- 2). Click on the blue Activate Phone link located in the upper left hand side. Select the Transfer Number option from the drop down menu.
- 3). Select the "Transfer my service and phone number from one TracFone to Another" option. Select your new phone model by clicking on the appropriate picture. Select the continue button.
- 4). Select your current phone model by selecting the appropriate picture. Click on the continue button.
- 5). Log-in to your TracFone account. Your current International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number will be in the TracFone database along with current account minutes. Enter the IMEI for your new phone. Find the IMEI information in your handset battery compartment. Confirm your information before confirming your account transfer.
- 6). Enter the menu option on your TracFone to transfer your minutes to your new phone. Select Code Entry Mode. Follow the instructions on the TracFone website. Instructions differ by phone model. Confirmation is required to ensure the proper minutes are being transferred. If this information is incorrect, contact customer service.
- 7). Power your new TracFone handset off and wait 10 minutes. Turn the handset back on and wait for your confirmation text to confirm a successful transfer.
- 1). Contact the customer service department for TracFone. Inform the representative you wish to transfer your current TracFone account to a new phone.
- 2). Repeat the International Mobile Equipment Identity, or IMEI number of your current TracFone to the representative. The make and model of your current phone and your current account minutes will be confirmed. The IMEI of your new phone is also required so the representative can enter the information to your TracFone account. Find your IMEI information for both handsets in their respective battery compartments.
- 3). Follow instructions given by the customer service representative to "zero out", or clear your minutes from your current phone. Further instruction transfers your phone number to your new TracFone. Follow instructions carefully to avoid error messages.
- 4). Access the menu option on your current handset and select "My Phone Number" to be sure your number was properly transferred.
- 5). Follow the instructions from the customer service representative to transfer your minutes to your new handset. This is done by accessing "Code Entry Mode" on your current handset menu.
- 6). Wait for an activation text on your new handset to ensure your minutes transfer was successful.
