- Hypertech program chips are designed to work specifically with different makes and models of vehicles. Hypertech chips are calibrated to a specific engine as well. For example, a chip that works for a Ram 1500 will not work for a Ram 2500, even though they are both made by Dodge.
- Each Hypertech chip is programmed with a code. This code is loaded into your vehicles' computer system when the chip is installed. The factory vehicle settings are loaded onto the programmer and the Hypertech programmer is locked using the vehicles' VIN. The performance data can be placed back onto the programmer should you decide to return the vehicle to stock.
- Hypertech chips reprogram the vehicles' computer to cause more fuel to be released into the combustion chamber. An increase in fuel equals more power. Hypertech chips can also be calibrated to use bigger tires, lower gear ratios, or aftermarket engine parts.
