Runners Tips

Tips or facts that all runners share.
I believe it doesn't matter if they're here from the United States or from across the waters we all share some common ground.
The number one tip is no eating at least four hours before a run.
This is a pretty easy rule to follow if you run in the evenings after work which means you probably ate at around noon time so your evening runs are possibly between four to seven p.
m.
range.
If you run in the mornings then it is even an easier tip to follow.
Run before breakfast! Staying on track of when to eat could avoid a case of the side stitches.
When you encounter a problem is if you're a mid-day runner.
The only tips for runners I could give if you're a noon runner is what I did for awhile when I had one of those second shift jobs.
In that period of my life I actually had breakfast as my main meal.
So that made lunch six hours after wards.
A snack bar is o.
k.
if you do need to eat something.
My next tips for runners are to never run in a new pair of running shoes.
You may think runner shoes are already broke in.
Well yes they are to a certain extent.
I would still give a new pair a couple weeks of a breaking in period.
Running shoes are very important in terms of the amount of days on your training.
You have a race coming up and missing some important days those final ten days before a race, could cost you a race.
All from a simple thing you could have avoided like breaking in your shoes before hand.
Tips for runners on racing shoes; many ask is lack of support worth the ounces given up.
Well everyone's body mechanics is different.
I didn't like the lack of support just to run in a lighter shoe.
If your foot has good arch support then racers may work for you.
I knew a guy that actually ran barefooted! He would always come up to the starting line with his shoes on, but it never failed, a few minutes before the gun went off he would always jerk them off and toss them aside! Stretching after your runs is another tips for runners we all share in common.
Many folks stretch before a run however, that is a hard habit to break.
It's not your fault! I know it's what you were always told to do from old school...
yes me, too! It will help you ten-fold after your daily run to stretch once your muscles are warmed up.
There are actually two methods you can take.
Start off slow almost at a walk for the first ten minutes of your run.
This is so you're actually warming up with your run.
The second thing would be to actually stop your run on the side of the road then do your stretches.
What kind of stretches is best? I don't think it matters what form, just as long as it covers all your muscle groups.
I've always been fond of yoga.
I think yoga makes you a better runner.
