Weight loss encouragement is a need for anyone on this healthy journey.
I want you to know that regardless of all of the quick and easy plans being thrown at you in magazines, television and the internet that weight loss is not always easy, in fact it is a challenge and it is something you have to work at to achieve yet you can achieve it with the right mindset.
The reason weight loss can seem difficult at times is because weight loss represents change and change always comes with challenges.
You might really feel that you want to lose weight and you might have even been told that you had to lose weight for health reasons yet you find your motivation and dedication fading.
If this describes you then it will be important for you to ask yourself what about this change makes you uncomfortable.
If you go on a diet and lose the weight are you afraid that you will just gain it all back again? Are you afraid of the extra attention it will bring? Are you afraid you will feel empty without the food? These questions come up whenever you face change, even if you know in your heart that the change will bring positive things along with it.
My best piece of weight loss encouragement if you are struggling with these types of self-defeating concerns is that change will happen if you continue to focus on building the right mindset - here is how.
The first step you can take is to just focus on what you need to do today.
When you begin to worry about how you are going to control your eating at the family picnic this weekend or how you are going to maintain your weight loss a year from now you are doing something I call "eating in the future".
You cannot tackle the business of today by worrying about what you will do tomorrow.
Instead set your intention for today and that is all you need to do.
Also, don't entertain the negative or defeating thoughts.
Listen, EVERYONE has negative thoughts, there is no preventing them from entering your head BUT you can do something about them and that is to not entertain them.
When you hear a defeating thought such as, "I am never going to be able manage my eating this weekend?" simply say CANCEL and shift your thoughts to something more positive such as, "that is this weekend, today I will do just fine.
" This sounds overly simplified but think about it? These defeating thoughts have no power until you let them grow inside of you, let the thought come, say cancel and move on toward your goal.
Weight loss encouragement will come in many forms, be open to it and know that you have control over the most important tool and that is creating a positive mindset.
