2005 Ford F-150 Pickup Truck

The Ford F-150 truck went through a total redesign for 2004, so we can expect to see refinements to the 2005 model, not major changes. New highlights include:
  • A new King Ranch model
  • A 4.2L V6 engine with electronic throttle control and manual transmission
  • A Work Truck Group package for entry-level, commercial applications
  • Occupant Position Sensing technology for the first-row passenger

F-150 Configurations

  • Three cab choices: Regular Cab, SuperCab, SuperCrew
  • Three box lengths: 5.5 ft., 6.5 ft, 8 ft.

Three Engine Choices
  • 5.4L Triton V8, 300 hp and 365 lb.-ft. of torque

  • 4.2L V6, 202 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (offered for the first time with a manual transmission)

Towing and Payload

  • Overhead Rail System
A modular overhead rail system holds snap in modules, such as first-aid kits, toolboxes, flashlights and two-way radio holders.

    Safety and Security
    • Hydroformed front frame rails are designed to collapse in an accordion fashion on impact, dissipating energy before it reaches the passenger compartment.
    • Ford Personal Safety SystemTM and occupant-sensing technology for the first-row passenger, where the system determines if the air bag should be on or off.
