- 1). Scrub each Games Workshop figurine with a water-based soap, using a new, unsoiled sponge. Perform this step even if the Red Corsair looks completely clean to ensure that no invisible oils from your skin are able to interfere with primer adhesion.
- 2). Rinse the Red Corsair under a water tap. Dry the Games Workshop Red Corsair figurine with a towel.
- 3). Abrade (rough up) your Red Corsair, or primer adhesion will prove poor. Scour every part of the Games Workshop figurine with a relatively fine, 100-grit sandpaper until the plastic feels gritty.
- 4). Set the Red Corsair upright on an absorbent canvas drop cloth. Never use cheap polypropylene drop cloths for this type of project, or primer and paint overspray may pool up and interfere with the painting process.
- 5). Spray the Red Corsair with a fine layer of acrylic spray primer. To generate a flawless finish free from clotting, sagging and runs, maintain a distance of eight inches between the Red Corsair and the paint spray tip. Let the Games Workshop figurine dry for three hours.
- 6). Spray the Red Corsair with a fine layer of acrylic spray enamel. Maintain a distance of eight inches between the Red Corsair and spray tip. Let the Games Workshop figurine dry for three hours.
- 7). Add details to the Red Corsair using polyester-bristled craft brushes. Don't handle the Red Corsair for three hours to allow for complete drying.
