- 1). Check the action of your rifle to make sure that it is unloaded.
- 2). Secure your rifle in a vice. Place padding around the sides of the rifle to prevent the vise from damaging it. This will allow you greater access to work on your rifle.
- 3). Find the sight-retention pin on the left side of the rear sight; use your pliers to pry the pin downward. Press down on the front of the sight with your flathead screwdriver, and pull the sight to the rear. The sight will separate from the rifle.
- 4). Pry the sight-retention pin back to the download position, place the type-45 sight onto the sight mount; press down and slide it forward into position. When the sight is in position, release the retention pin.
