How to Update a DVD-ROM's Firmware

    Windows

    • 1). Click "Start" at the bottom of your computer monitor and click on the "Search" bar.

    • 2). Type "update" into the search prompt and press the "Enter" key.

    • 3). Click on the "Windows Update" icon to launch the program.

    • 4). Click "Check for updates" at the top of the screen and wait for the program to scan for updated firmware.

    • 5). Click the DVD-ROM firmware update and then click "Install Updates" at the bottom of the window.

    • 6). Restart your computer.

    Mac

    • 1). Click the "Apple" button at the top of your computer screen in the "Finder" window.

    • 2). Click the second tab down on the menu labeled "Software Update."

    • 3). Wait for the program to scan for your DVD-ROM's firmware update and then click "Install" at the bottom of your window.

    • 4). Wait for the installation to complete.

    • 5). Restart your Apple computer.
