Guide Review - Gobbolino, the Witch's Cat, by Ursula Moray Williams
Gobbolino and his sister Sootica are kittens owned by a witch, but it becomes evident that Gobbolino is a misfit for witchery (his one white paw and blue eyes are unseemly, indeed.) In his heart, Gobbolino only wants to be a "hearth cat," and after being deserted by his witchly family, he sets off to do just that. Unfortunately, along the way, his reputation as a witch's cat follows him, and he is disappointed again and again by people he had come to know as friends. There are several surprises along the way, but you'll have to read the book to discover the inevitable ending. Since there are no youngsters in my family, I read this book aloud to my husband, and he enjoyed it as much as I.
