- 1). Place a red piece of craft paper on your work space. Use a pencil to draw a vertical rectangle aproximately the size of your hand.
- 2). Cut out the rectangle with a pair of scissors.
- 3). Draw two circles and one oval on the red craft paper. Cut them out with the scissors.
- 4). Glue the oval on top of the rectangle. Glue the two circles on the left and right sides of the rectangle. This is your fire hydrant base.
- 5). Draw a circle in the middle of the rectangle with a black marker.
- 6). Punch a hole in the center of the black circle on the fire hydrant. Slip the end of a yellow, black, white or red shoelace through the hole. Tie a knot at the end of the shoelace through the hole so it does not come out of the hole. This is your fire hose connected to the fire hydrant.
