- 1). Cast on 38 stitches to your straight needles.
- 2). Knit two stitches, purl two stitches across to finish your first row of knitting.
- 3). Purl two stitches, knit two stitches across to finish your second row of knitting.
- 4). Continue knitting these two rows of knitting (knit two, purl two; purl two, knit two) until your piece of knitting is 7 inches long. This size will fit a women's medium.
- 5). Cast off your knitting. For best results, keep your cast-off stitches loose by not pulling them tightly as you move them off the needles. The stretchy edge will make it easy to pull the gloves over your hands.
- 6). Fold your knitted piece in half width wise. You should now have a tube that is open along the top, one side, and bottom.
- 7). Thread your yarn needle with a long length of yarn. Sew the open side (but not top or bottom) of your glove for 1 inch. Any sewing stitch will work, but a stitch designed for knitting (like the mattress stitch) will work the best and give the most professional results.
- 8). Cut your yarn. Move 3 inches down the open side, and then resume sewing until you reach the bottom edge of your glove. The 3-inch gap you left in your sewing will create your thumb hole. Weave in the ends of your sewing yarn and tails.
- 9). Repeat to make your second glove.
