Yes, that's right, you can actually change your body composition so that you can burn that fat even when you are asleep. How can you do that?
It all depends on your metabolism.
What is your metabolism? In a nutshell it is the amount of energy (number of calories) your body burns at rest just to maintain your normal bodily functions such as breathing, pumping blood around your body and digesting food.
Another name for your metabolism is your Basal Metabolic Rate or (BMR).
One of the factors that your BMR relies on is your Lean Body Mass. Lean Body Mass is inclusive of the muscles in your body.
Muscles are actually active tissues even while you are at rest and so the more muscle you have then the more calories you will burn at rest and the higher your BMR will be.
You will use up more energy even when you are sleeping.
For women this may seem a bit daunting to build more muscle, but it does not have to be large bulky muscle. Toned female looking muscles are enough for a woman to have a faster metabolism.
Eating frequent small meals is also another way to speed up your metabolism. When you eat more frequently your body is continually digesting. It actually takes energy to digest food and so your body will be burning more calories while you are at rest.
Of course, when eating frequent small meals you must make sure you are making the right food choices. Eating food with too many calories frequently would mean that you have excess calories in your body and so you would not be burning fat at rest but the excess calories you have consumed.
When you combine frequent eating with the right food choices and building your lean body mass your body will burn that fat much faster and you will turn into a human fat burning machine!
