- 1). Move the washer away from the wall to make sure the appliance is not resting on top of its drain hose. Straighten the hose so that it is not kinked or pinched.
- 2). Lift up on the drain hose to make sure it is not too deep inside the drain. Inserting the hose too far into the drain reduces the hose's siphoning ability.
- 3). Open the washer and redistribute the load inside the appliance. If you are washing a small load, add more items to increase the load size. Close the washer and press "Drain & Spin."
- 4). Wait two hours if the washer stops before it completes its spin cycle. A washer that stops during the spin cycle likely has an overheated motor. The motor will reset itself and can work again in two hours.
- 5). Press on the washer door to make sure it is closed. An open washer door does not allow the washer to spin or drain.
