There are two times when promoting your appearance on our program is crucial those times are before the program and after the program.
Before the Program: During this time you want to rally your fans to listen to the show.
The goal being that you will have people call or write in during the question and answer time to keep the show lively and interactive.
Alert your followers through as many channels as you have possible 1.
) Email, Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn - Contact your supporters about 1-2 weeks before the program letting them know when you will be on.
Also, solicit questions from those who will not be able to listen live that they would like to ask you.
This way if call or write in volume is low you still have questions from your fans to answer.
2.
) Web-Site - If you have a web-site post an "ad" about the program and again encourage your supporters to send any questions if they can't listen live.
3.
) Physical Mail - If you have a physical mailing list, let them know in your next newsletter or even send out a special promotion.
4.
) Think outside the box - If you have any other means of communication with your supporters let them know and encourage them to listen live! After the Program: After the program try to get an MP3 (audio track) and the rights to distribute it, so that you can share with your supporters.
Use this to promote yourself to other radio shows and media outlets as well as to your audience.
1.
) Email, Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn - Email your listeners inviting them to listen to the archive (whether you put it on your site, or upload it to iTunes) if they missed the show 2.
) Web-site - Put the MP3 up as a free download and make sure people can find it easily! 3.
) Physical Mail - Talk to your readers about your experience on the show and invite them to listen to the archive.
4.
) Contact Media Outlets - You have now added to your media portfolio an appearance as a guest on a radio show.
Use that to your advantage.
Include the interview in your media packets when contacting local and national media outlets.
5.
) Contact churches, civic organizations and Schools - You have a message now share it! When contacting churches and or schools to get speaking engagements make sure to include a copy of the program to help build your credibility.
