My personal research and experience suggests that there is a direct correlation between iPods and pea pods.
For an old 20th century person that is living in the 21st century I feel somewhat perplexed whenit comes to dealing with the modern electrical equipment of this society.
I am living in a time when you hear of things that were not even dreamed of when I was a child.
For example:Xboxes, CDs, DVDs, Mini Media Players, MP3 Players, HDTV, etc.
So many initials that you wonder what they all stand for.
The one that really gets to me is the iPods.
Back in my day teachers taught that you don't put a capital in the middle of a word and now you have iPods.
I decided to do my own research on iPods because I knew about pea pods (you know the green vegetable).
My research and findings found that iPods and pea pods have a direct relationship to each other.
Now take the pea pod.
In my early days they meant rest.
After weeding in the garden under a hot boiling sun you were put to work shelling peas.
It was still work, but you got to sit in the shade on the soft grass.
You could munch a few as you worked and you didn't have to think about anything in particular.
You could visit with who ever came along, dream of the future, and hum a merry tune.
Boy was I lucky.
I told my granddaughter about this and she informed me that she did all of this with her iPod, but work was not included.
iPod!What is an iPod?Well come to find out an iPod is a way to relax and enjoy music just like podding those peas.
It doesn't have to be under a tree, it could be in an airplane terminal waiting for the plane or in the back yard.
Some of them are extremely small, of course, they are portable, and they can do an amazing amount of functions.
They say that good things come in small packages.
Well this is a good thing.
You can find free sights on the internet and download music on them (and if you can't, I'm sure your grandkids could do it for you).
You can listen to Pop, Country, Latin, Jazz, and if necessary Rock and Rap.
Some iPods come with movie capability and will let you download movies, suspense, fiction, comedy, and even some of the good old "oldies".
Then to prove to your grand kids that you are not an old, fuddy duddy, you can download some games and let them "borrow" it when they come to visit.
When your day is done and you are tired and want to rest from the world you can relax and so can your iPod because now there are beautiful iPod docking stations that will regenerate your iPod so that it is ready for the next time it is taken out.
And, if that iPod is really really lucky it may get taken out under a tree while some old, pardon me.
Some senior citizen is sitting on the grass podding peas while they hum along with there new iPod.
