How to Build a Firewood Storage Rack the Easy Way

A firewood storage rack is a great way to store firewood but buying a good sturdy rack can be expensive. If you haven't considered building one yourself, you may want to consider that option because it may be easier than you ever imagined.

A firewood storage rack is very simple so designing one is not hard. The trick is to then build one so that it is strong and still keep it simple. If you know how to weld, this can be easy to do by simply welding some pieces of steel together. But most people don't have access to welding equipment or know how to use it.

For most people wood is a more practical choice for building a firewood rack since it is easy to work with using common tools. The challenge with using wood is in creating strong connections between the upright end pieces and the base since wood can not be welded like steel.

There are several solutions to this and one of them is cheap and so simple that that even a 5 year old could assemble your firewood rack.

All you need is some 2x4 lumber and some firewood rack brackets. Cut your 2x4's to the length you want and simply slide the end into the brackets. The brackets are made of steel and create a strong joint that will hold the 2x4's into place as a sturdy firewood rack.

This type of rack is very versatile and can be made into any size you want. It will assemble and disassemble easy and you can change the size later if you want by replacing or cutting the 2x4's with the size you want.

There are many firewood racks available on the market but to get a good sturdy one you may have to spend a few hundred dollars for a large one. But with brackets you can make your own that is just as good or better for much less.
