- 1). Shut down the Toshiba L25. Close the LCD screen and disconnect the AC adapter. Flip the Toshiba laptop over so that it is facing bottom-side up, then unlock and remove the battery from the bottom of the L25 laptop.
- 2). Flip the L25 back over and open the monitor screen. Use an awl or flathead screwdriver to pry up the edge cover just above the top row of keys on the keyboard. Slowly lift up on the keyboard cover to remove it, and do not damage the LCD screen while doing so.
- 3). Remove the keyboard retaining screws that are located just above the "F1" and "Windows" keys. Lift the keyboard up and out of the laptop.
- 4). Rotate the top of the keyboard until you can reach the ribbon connector cable underneath it. Carefully pull the connector out of the slot on the L25 motherboard. Remove the keyboard from the laptop.
- 5). Replace the keyboard or make other repairs to the laptop. Reinstall the keyboard by reversing the steps used to remove it.
