- Mash together four to five strawberries, 2 tsp. bio-yogurt, 1 tsp. olive oil, 1 tsp. honey, and 2 tsp.of oatmeal until all the ingredients are well blended and the strawberries are mashed. Apply to your face with clean hands, leave on for 20 minutes and rinse. Strawberries are known to have lightening qualities, while the rest of the ingredients keep your skin bright, healthy and moisturized.
- Mix together 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1 tsp. honey, and 1/2 cup salt and use as an exfoliating scrub. The lemon juice has bleaching qualities known to lighten freckles and blemishes, and the salt will slough away and buff dry skin to help the lemon juice soak deeper into your pores. The honey will allow the other ingredients to work and keep your skin from becoming dry and irritated.
- Blend together 3 tbsp. of sandalwood powder and 3 tsp. of rose water to create a thick mask. Wear the mask for 20 minutes daily and after several weeks you should be able to see a difference in the brightness of your skin.
- Skin bleaching should always be done with caution and care, and discontinue using any of these recipes if your skin appears to have a negative reaction. If home remedies are not enough, prescription and over-the-counter creams also help bleach skin. As always, it is important to ask your dermatologist what products would be best and safest for your skin type.
