- 1). Check the fuse or circuit breaker. If the fuse has blown, replace it. If the circuit breaker has tripped, flip it back on. If the fuse to your microwave blows repeatedly, Galanz recommends replacing it with a larger fuse. Galanz microwaves use a large jolt of start-up power and this can overload some smaller fuses.
- 2). Make sure the microwave is plugged in. Try plugging a lamp into the same outlet to make sure the outlet is getting power. If the lamp doesn't work either, contact an electrician for repairs.
- 3). Close the door securely. The microwave will not operate with the door open to avoid microwave leakage. Try to wiggle the door up and down while it's open. If it wiggles, tighten the hinge screws on the left hand side of the door. Loose hinges can keep the door from closing securely.
- 4). Close the microwave door and jiggle it. If it moves, the door hooks are defective and must be replaced. Contact a repair center, as this involves opening the microwave. If the door doesn't jiggle but still doesn't close tightly, use a damp cloth to clean debris and residue from the door hooks. Dirty door hooks can interfere with proper door-latching.
- 5). Check the door release button, if one is present on your model. If it is loose, it could be preventing the microwave from sensing when the door is closed, which prevents the microwave from turning on. It must be replaced by a professional.
- 6). Contact a repair center if your Galanz microwave still does not work. There may be a blown internal fuse or a defective door switch, both of which must be replaced by a professional.
