How to Remove Computer Memory

    • 1). In Windows Vista, click "Start" and select "Shut Down" to turn the computer off.

    • 2). Use a screwdriver to open the side panel of the computer case. Locate the memory modules installed on the motherboard.

      Retaining clips that hold the memory modules in place.

      Using your index fingers, simultaneously press the retaining clips of the first memory socket outward to release the memory module. Then take the memory module out.

    • 4). Repeat Step 3 for the other memory modules.
