- 1). Measure the area of mesh panels you will require to display your artwork. Ensure that there is enough space to hang your artwork and label the piece with its description and price. Calculate the approximate amount of space you will need by leaving 5 inches of space between each artwork. Lay a sheet or paper on the floor that is the size of the mesh panels. Arrange your artwork in the format you wish to hang them and determine how many panels will be needed to arrange everything.
- 2). Purchase metal gridwall panel sidewalls that are available in either free-standing or wall-mounted styles. Gridwall panels come in various sizes. You may need to join sections to cover a larger area. Take your measurements with you when purchasing gridwall panels. These panel are formed of large square metal grids that can be used to form the framework for your panels. If you require large panels, choose free-standing ones as these will be easier and more stable to use rather than wall-hanging panels.
- 3). Assemble the gridwall panels following the directions in the instruction manual. Pre-fabricated panels have interlocking plastic connections that are used to make a small or large display. If you are using wall panels, they will also have screws and hooks for mounting them to the walls. Connect the panels and secure them with the screws and tools provided in your kit.
- 4). Purchase enough fabric material to cover the gridwall panels on both sides. Calculate the amount needed by multiplying your display wall measurement by 2.5. This allows enough material to cut and sew and cover the gridwall panels. The mesh can be thick nylon fabric available at a fabric or hobby craft store.
- 5). Fold the fabric and measure it so that it is twice the size of the metal gridwall. Cut the nylon fabric and fold it in half and sew it at one side and at the top so that it forms a square bag-like cover that can be slipped over the gridwall panel. Slip the mesh over the gridwall so that the open end is at the bottom of the panel. Secure the mesh to the gridwalls by pinning or sewing it at the back of the panels.
- 6). Mount the mesh-covered gridwall panels on the walls or arrange free-standing panels and secure them to the wall or other immovable object. Place the S-shaped hooks into the mesh-covered display panels by inserting one side through the fabric and over the metal grid. The other loop of the "S" is exposed on top of the mesh. Hang your artwork on the hooks to display it.
