Instructions for a Portable Whirlpool Dishwasher

Things You'll Need

Instructions

1

Prepare to load the dirty dishes by scraping off food and rinsing them. Load the plates and pans in the bottom rack. Load the glasses and small containers in the top rack. Silverware and cooking utensils are placed in the basket in the bottom rack.
2

Push the racks into the dishwasher. Look under the bottom rack to make sure nothing has fallen though the rack to block the spray arm at the bottom of the dishwasher.
3

Add the correct amount of detergent in the cups on the open door. The smaller cup is for a pre-wash, which is the first wash cycle. The larger cup is for the main wash after the pre-wash and rinse cycle. Fill the cups to the line indicating the type of water that you have, either soft or hard.
4

Add the rinse aid, which helps with the drying cycle. Glasses and dishes will not have spots. Turn the lever on the cap in the door. Pour the rinse aid inside to the full line. Turn the lever again to lock the cap. Close the door and move the lever to the right to lock the door.
5

Press the cycle that you want to use. If you are washing pots and pans or heavily soiled dishes, press “Pots & Pans.” Press “Normal” for a light load. If your dishwasher has “Eco,” use this setting for lightly soiled dishes to save energy.
6

Select “High Temp,” which is only used with pots and pans and normal wash cycles. Select “Sanitizing,” which raises the water temperature, if your dishwasher has this function. If you want to delay the wash for four hours, press the "4-hour delay." Not all dishwashers, however, have this option.
7

Run the water in your sink until it is hot. Turn off the water. Pull the hose out of the storage compartment on the back of the dishwasher. Pull down on the collar and push the hose connection onto the faucet. Release the collar to secure the connection.
8

Plug in the dishwasher to a power outlet. Turn on the water. Press the start button on the front of the Whirlpool dishwasher.
9

Unplug the dishwasher power cord when the wash and dry cycles are done. Turn off the water. Pull the hose connection off the faucet and replace the hose in the storage compartment. Roll the dishwasher back to its place when it's not in use.
